Description

A round old piper hunched over his bagpipes, cheeks puffed, flat cap tugged down against the wind. This is a full character statuette, not a routed panel. A heavyset, jolly-faced man sits on a rough wooden crate, one boot planted forward, cradling a bag of pipes to his chest with drones tucked under his arm and a chanter dropping between his knees. The sculpt is loaded with texture — the ribbed knit of his jumper, the creases in his trousers, the plank-and-nail detail of the crate, and the fine turned grooves of the round display base beneath him. He's a lovely narrative piece: a shelf or desk ornament for anyone with Scottish or folk-music roots, a painted collectible, a themed gift, or a characterful addition to a tabletop village or diorama. Print notes: • Resin really pays off here for the jumper weave and the pipe drones; on FDM drop to 0.08– 0.12 mm layers. • Orient upright on the supplied round base. Add supports beneath the forearms, the hanging chanter, and the overhang where he leans over the pipes. • The drone pipes are the most delicate spans — inspect them after support removal and reprint singly if any snap. • Undercoat grey, then work warm tweeds and a weathered-wood crate; a sepia wash sunk into the knit and the base grain ties the whole figure together.
