Saltire Cross Cutwork Band

A confident piece of cutwork. A smoothly curved band wraps round to a raised lozenge bezel, and inside that diamond sits a bold saltire — a clean X of crossed bars. The space between the arms is fully open, so light passes straight through the motif. Modelled here in a warm timber tone, it suits a close-grained hardwood like oak or walnut where the flat framing bars will catch a chamfer nicely. Rout the outline first, then clear the four triangular pockets around the cross with a small end mill for crisp inner corners; a coat of sanding sealer keeps those tight angles sharp. Works as a signet-style band, a curtain-tie accent, or a repeating architectural detail.
