Description

A baroque allegory frozen mid-story — a winged muse, an aged sage and a coiling serpent bound into one dramatic group. The centrepiece is a seated winged female figure, her hair swept up and gaze lifted, one hand steadying a large oval shield or polished mirror while the other grips a short stylus. Below and behind her a bearded, bare-shouldered elder crouches under the weight of the composition, clutching a scroll and quill — the classic personification of Time or a chronicler. At the base a serpent threads across rocky drapery, the old emblem of eternity closing the circle. The whole thing reads like a fragment of 18th-century memorial statuary: layered fabric folds, wings scaled feather by feather, and a pyramidal build that keeps the eye climbing. It suits collectors of classical sculpture, tabletop dioramas, study-desk or memorial display, and makers who want a genuine centrepiece rather than a trinket. Print notes: • Resin (SLA/MSLA) is strongly recommended — the feather edges, faces and serpent scales reward fine layers. • Orient upright, hollow the base, and add supports beneath the wing overhangs, the extended shield rim and the elder's arm. • Consider splitting the wings and shield from the core body for cleaner supporting, then pin and glue. • For a larger statement piece, a rotary/4-axis CNC in hardwood works: rough with a ball nose, refine with a fine tapered bit, and hand-sand the faces.
