Description

A serene monk stands in quiet blessing atop an open lotus. This figure is a fully modelled standing Buddhist monk — bald, with elongated earlobes and a calm, downcast face — draped in heavy monastic robes that fall in deep folds to bare feet. One hand is raised at the chest holding a slender ringed staff, while the other cups a small object below, the classic posture of a compassionate bodhisattva. He rises from a two-tier lotus-petal pedestal whose scrolled, upturned petals give the base real presence. The piece is a natural fit for a home shrine, meditation corner or as a collectible devotional sculpture, and the crisp drapery makes it a rewarding subject to carve in wood or print in resin. At the bench: • Carve or print upright; on a router this suits full 3D relief or in-the-round work with a fine tapered ball-nose for the robe folds and face. • On resin or FDM, orient vertically and support the extended forearm and the underside of the sleeve overhangs. • The lotus base sits cleanly flat-down and can be milled or printed separately for a two-tone wood-and-stone look. • Scale up for an altar-sized statue or down to a 100mm shelf figure; a matte stone or aged-bronze finish lifts every fold of the drapery.
