Furled Cornucopia Scroll Ornament

A pair of tightly furled scrolls, carved deep and mirrored across a central ridge. This ivory-toned ornament curves like a low crown or corbel. Two ribbed, rolled forms — wrapped in husk-like leaves and grooved down their length like ears of corn or the coiled end of a cornucopia — spiral inward toward the middle, where a sharp central spine divides the composition symmetrically. Rounded, bud-like lobes crest the top corners, and the whole thing sits on a gently arched base ready to nestle against a flat surface. It's a meaty, high-relief carving with real depth in the coils. The natural home for this is applied ornament: a furniture crest or apron centre, a corbel or bracket, a fireplace surround, cabinet doors, or a bed headboard. As a mirror-symmetric motif it centres a piece nicely. CNC / print notes: • On a router, hog out the deep coils with a ball-nose, then detail the ribbing and husk edges with a fine tapered bit — this is a 3D carve, not a shallow V-carve. • Machine or print it slightly proud of a flat back so it glues on cleanly as an onlay. • For 3D printing, tilt it back and support the undercut coils; resin gives the sharpest ribbing. • Stain or gild to match existing woodwork, wiping a dark glaze into the deep grooves so the relief reads across a room.
