Description

A big cat caught mid-prowl, every muscle taut. Despite the workshop code, this is a fully modelled feline sculpture — a lean, powerful panther or lioness stalking forward, head lowered, shoulder blades rolling under the skin and a long tail sweeping out behind for balance. The anatomy is the star: defined haunches, the dip of the spine, and the padded weight settling into each forepaw. There is no mane, so it reads as a lioness or a smooth-coated great cat rather than a lion. It makes a striking display piece on a shelf, desk or mantel, scales up nicely as a centrepiece, and shrinks down neatly for tabletop gaming and dioramas. Print notes • Resin captures the muscle definition best; orient the body at roughly 30–45° and support the belly, tail underside and lower legs. • On FDM, lay the cat on its side or back-angled with tree supports under the overhanging belly and tail; a 0.12 mm layer smooths the flanks. • The slender tail is the fragile point — thicken it slightly for large prints, or raise the wall count so it prints solid. • Prime and airbrush tawny for a lioness or matte black for a panther, then a satin varnish to lift the coat.
