Description

Deep-relief airborne badge that turns a plank of oak into a proud shield. This carving reproduces a Soviet-era paratrooper emblem: a heraldic shield crowned by an open parachute canopy, a six-pointed star bearing the hammer-and-sickle at its heart, and a lone jumper drifting down beneath the silk on taut rigging lines. Ribbon banners scroll across the top and foot lettered in raised Cyrillic, while a border of round rivet studs frames the whole panel. The layered depth — canopy in front of shield, banners overlapping the edges — is what gives it presence on a wall. It suits military-heritage collectors, veterans' rooms, den or workshop walls, and anyone who likes bold insignia art rather than flat plaques. Print / carve notes • Runs beautifully as a 2.5D CNC relief in oak, walnut or ash; keep a fine ball-nose for the parachute seams and lettering. • FDM prints well face-up with a 0.4 mm or finer nozzle; the deepest pockets behind the canopy may want light supports. • A grey primer followed by a bronze or pewter drybrush and a dark antique wash makes the relief read like cast metal. • Leave the flat back untouched for a keyhole hanger or French cleat.
