Imperial Eagle Artillery Crest Plaque

A commanding military crest carved in golden deep relief. This panel is an ornate heraldic emblem sculpted for the router. Crowning the top is a double-headed imperial eagle with a royal crown floating above it and a small central shield across its breast, wings sweeping wide to either side. Below, a bannered shield forms the centrepiece: crossed cannon barrels sit behind a flaming torch, with a round drum or medallion at the meeting point bearing an ornate monogram and the date split as "18" and "20". Framing the whole thing is a full oak-leaf wreath, complete with clustered acorns, tied at the base — the traditional badge of an artillery academy. The relief depth is generous, with the eagle and torch standing well proud of the shield field for strong shadow contrast. It is made to be carved as a wall plaque or cabinet centrepiece for a workshop, study or collector of military heraldry, and it rewards a hardwood that holds fine edges. CNC notes: • Rough out with a ball-nose, then finish detail with a fine tapered ball or V-bit for the feather barbs, wreath veins and lettering. • Oak, walnut or a tight-grained maple hold the crisp acorns and eagle detail best; MDF works for a painted finish. • Leave a small flat border so the piece can be framed or hung cleanly. • Finish with gilt wax or bronze rub-and-buff over a dark base to pop the raised elements against the recessed field.
