Description

A full ceremonial crest, carved to command a wall. This relief gathers every flourish of old-world heraldry into one dense composition: a ring of laurel-and-oak leaves sweeps around the outside, spread eagle wings flare out behind a central shield, and a trio of imperial crowns sits atop it all, trailing ribboned tails. The shield itself carries the classic St George scene, a mounted rider driving his spear down into a writhing dragon beneath the horse's hooves. A rippling pennant banner arcs across the top, its folds catching the light in stepped waves. It reads as a statesman's emblem or a grand club crest, and that is exactly where it belongs, mounted over a study door, above a mantel, or as the centrepiece of a panelled feature wall for anyone who loves heraldry, history or ceremonial ornament. Print notes: • Deep, multi-tiered relief, so leave a generous Z range and run a roughing pass before the finishing pass. • The feather barbs and leaf veins want a fine tapered V-bit or a 1-2mm ball-nose for the detail pass. • Mills cleanly in a tight-grained hardwood such as oak, beech or walnut; MDF is fine if you plan to gild or paint. • Finish with a dark glaze wiped back off the high points so the wings and wreath really pop.
