Description

An endless woven knot pressed into a round coin of wood. The design is a classic four-fold interlace — a square Celtic knot whose four broad bands weave over and under one another in perfect symmetry, their pointed tips reaching out to four sharp petal-like points that touch the rim. It sits recessed inside a plain dished roundel, so the raised, softly rounded weave stands proud of a smooth sunken field ringed by a clean bevelled edge, like a struck medallion or a challenge coin. The knot has no beginning and no end — the traditional emblem of eternity and unity — which makes it a natural for coasters, cabinet-door centres, box lids, wall medallions or a set of decorative drinks tokens. Cut / print notes: • The over-under weave depends on clean depth steps — set two or three Z-levels so the crossing bands read clearly; a small ball-nose softens the band tops nicely. • Machine the dished background first, then the knot, to keep the recessed field even. • It is fully round and symmetrical, so it drops straight into a circular pocket or a turned frame. • Great in oak or walnut for contrast; if 3D printing, print face-up flat on the bed with no supports, and a two-tone paint (dark field, light weave) makes the interlace pop.
