The apothecary's serpent and chalice, wreathed in laurel. This relief is the classic Bowl of Hygieia — a snake rising from and coiling around a footed chalice — set inside a full oval wreath of laurel leaves and berries. The serpent is finely scaled right up to its raised head, the cup sits on a slim pedestal with a broad base, and the surrounding wreath ties at top and bottom, framing the emblem like a medallion. It's the internationally recognised symbol of pharmacy and healing. It's made for a pharmacist's or apothecary's wall: a carved plaque for a dispensary, chemist or herbalist shop, a retirement or graduation gift for someone in pharmacy, or a handsome sign motif. It's equally at home as a painted resin plaque or a routed hardwood panel. Print / carve notes: • As a CNC relief it's a natural: rough with a straight bit, then a tapered ball-nose finishing pass for the scales and leaf veins. Walnut, oak and maple all suit the subject. • For 3D printing, lay it flat, relief-side up, with no supports; 0.12 mm layers keep the snake scales and berries sharp. • Add a keyhole slot or recessed hangers on the back before slicing if it's going on a wall. • A dark glaze wiped into the recesses and rubbed back makes the emblem pop against the leaves.
