Double-Headed Eagle Heraldic Plaque

A double-headed eagle in full heraldic splendour, carved in deep sculptural relief. This is an ornate coat-of-arms panel, not the celtic tray its tag suggests: a twin-headed imperial eagle with wings spread wide, every feather individually sculpted, crowned by three linked crowns joined with a ribbon. Each beaked head turns outward in profile, and at the centre sits a shield depicting a mounted rider lancing a serpent — classic St George iconography. Below, the eagle's talons grip a sceptre and orb wrapped in laurel, and the tail fans into a ribbed, feathered plume. It is a dense, symmetrical composition designed to show off deep-relief carving. This is a natural fit for CNC routing or relief printing as a wall plaque, a headboard centrepiece, or an inset panel for a cabinet or door. Print / CNC notes • For CNC, use a fine ballnose bit on the finishing pass — the feather barbs and crown detail need a small stepover to resolve cleanly. • Hardwoods such as oak or walnut, or dense MDF, take the fine detail best; ease off the feed rate on the delicate wingtips to avoid tear-out. • For resin or FDM relief, print face-up flat on the bed; supports are not needed for a shallow relief, but a fine layer height keeps the plumage crisp. • Finish with a dark stain or wash pushed into the recesses and wiped back off the raised feathers to make the depth pop.
