Contemplative Crowned Face Medallion

Carved calm at the heart of a radiant disc. A tranquil crowned face anchors this round relief panel, eyes lowered in quiet contemplation and lips settled into a gentle smile, while two side-facing heads rise from behind, a multi-face motif that lends the medallion real depth and mystery. Above the forehead a beaded tiara climbs to a leaf-shaped centrepiece, and strands of tasselled jewellery frame the cheeks. Concentric rings of hairline rays fan outward to a crisp toothed border that catches light like a stylised sun. This one is made to hang: a statement roundel for an entryway, altar space, treatment room or any wall that wants a focal point with a contemplative mood. CNC notes: • Route as a single 3D relief: rough with a larger ball-nose, then run a tight finishing pass to bring out the eyelids, beadwork and the fine ray field. • Dense, even-grained timber like beech, maple or walnut carves the delicate rays without tear-out; MDF works well for a painted finish. • Use a slim tapered ball-nose for the narrow valleys of the radial band and between the border teeth. • After carving, dark wax rubbed in and buffed back highlights the raised face and rim; a satin lacquer keeps dust out of the fine grooves.
