Crowned Heraldic Coat of Arms

A regal coat of arms rendered in crisp bas-relief. This CNC panel recreates a full heraldic achievement: a rectangular shield at its heart, framed by a wreath of oak leaves that sweeps up both sides and knots together at the base, with a fluttering ribbon threaded through the foliage. Crowning the composition is an ornate imperial crown, its arches beaded and its cap patterned in a diamond lattice, topped by a small cross. Inside the shield prowls a long-tailed feline — a lithe, cat-like beast caught mid-stride with one forepaw raised — carved deep enough that the curl of its tail and the set of its shoulders catch the light. It suits a workshop turning out crests for panelled doors, mantelpiece plaques, club or lodge signage, or a statement medallion above a fireplace. The layered relief reads beautifully in walnut, oak or a painted MDF blank. Print notes: • Cut in hardwood for an heirloom finish; the oak-leaf border is where grain direction matters most, so orient the stock to reduce tear-out. • Rough with a larger ballnose, then finish the crown beading and the cat's face with a 2mm or finer tapered ball bit. • Mind the deep pockets between wreath and shield — a smaller stepover keeps those valleys clean. • Sand lightly, then work a dark wax or gilt cream into the recesses to pop the heraldry against the raised field.
