Description

A charging knight frozen mid-gallop across a heater shield. This heraldic plaque carries one bold device in shallow, confident relief: an armoured rider on a rearing horse, sword lifted high behind his helm, a triangular shield strapped to his left arm and blazoned with a double-barred cross. The horse's forelegs paw the air, its tail streams out behind, and the whole charge is contained within a classic pointed shield outline with a raised border. It's the mounted-knight "pursuit" motif familiar from Eastern European heraldry — all motion, chivalry and martial pride. Mounted on a wall it works as a crest for a study, a games room, a re-enactor's hall or a medieval-themed bar; scaled down it makes a fine backer for a plaque or trophy. Cut notes • Ideal CNC relief work: rough the field, then a fine ball-nose finishing pass to pull out the mane, the horse's musculature and the cross on the shield. • Watch the thin sword blade and reins — keep them a touch proud in the model so the cutter doesn't undercut them. • Cuts cleanly in close-grained hardwood or dense MDF; a V-bit can sharpen the border and the deepest shadow lines. • Prints well as a flat relief too — face up, fine layers, then a raking coat of paint or wax to throw the carving into shadow. Finish in aged bronze or dark stained oak and it hangs with real heraldic weight.
