Imperial Eagle Knight-Shield Crest

A crowned double-headed eagle, wings spread over a knightly shield. This is a dense heraldic relief plaque. A twin-headed imperial eagle fills the panel, its two crowned heads turned outward and a large arched imperial crown floating above them, tied with a trailing ribbon. Both wings sweep down in tiers of layered, sharply carved feathers to frame a central shield, which bears a mounted knight riding down a serpent-like dragon with a lance. Two straight swords cross behind the shield with a splayed feather-and-scroll flourish beneath, and the eagle's talons close over their blades. The whole composition is symmetrical and deeply undercut, built to catch light and shadow. It is designed as a wall emblem or door crest for CNC relief carving, ideal above a mantel, in a study, or as a presentation piece where a stately, old-world crest is wanted. The detail rewards a larger cut. CNC notes: • This is a single-sided relief. Rough with a 6 mm ball-nose, then finish with a 1-2 mm tapered ball-nose to reach the feather separations, crown lattice and the tiny rider on the shield. • Cut on tight, even-grained stock (lime, maple, tulipwood or a dense MDF/HDU for paint) so the fine feather tips do not chip. • Keep the shield and rider central detail as your slowest finishing pass; a small stepover here is what makes the scene readable. • Finish with dark wax or a gilt-and-glaze to push the recesses back and lift the raised feathering.
