Spiral Vortex Floral Roundel

A carved whirlpool spinning inside a ring of little blossoms. At the heart of this round medallion, six curved blades sweep out from the centre in a turbine-like spiral, each one starting as a thin hook near the middle and widening as it flings outward — the effect is a swirling vortex frozen in wood. Encircling it is a raised ring studded with small, evenly spaced flower-and-leaf clusters, and four larger petal accents mark the compass points around the rim, framing the swirl like a wreath. It is dynamic and hypnotic, with strong radial shadows where the blades cut deep. Use it as a ceiling rose, a furniture medallion, a cabinet-door centre, or a standalone wall roundel. CNC notes: • The deep spiral channels want a ball-nose finishing pass to keep the blade curves smooth and the valleys clean; a V-bit sharpens the crossing edges. • Lay it out so grain runs across the disc rather than along a single blade, for even strength. • The floral rim beads are small — a fine finishing bit and a slow finishing feed keep each blossom distinct. • Round over or chamfer the outer edge after cutting for a finished, mounted look. Note: the motif is a six-armed rotational swirl — a stylised vortex, not a cross symbol — so it reads as purely decorative. A striking centrepiece that catches raking light beautifully.
