Description

A winged lion striding proud across a heraldic shield — a crest carved in deep relief. This CNC panel captures a full coat of arms. At its centre a mane-heavy lion prowls in profile, one forepaw raised and gripping a slender staff or scepter, its body carried on broad stylised wings that fan back over its flank. Above the beast's head sits a crown or tiara topped by a tall spear-point finial; below, a banner carries a line of Armenian lettering — this is unmistakably the city arms of Yerevan. The whole emblem is framed by a shaped shield border with a pointed base, and every element is cut in confident, rounded high relief that throws strong shadows. It's built to be a wall plaque or door crest — the kind of piece that anchors a study, a hallway, a club room or a display honouring Armenian heritage. The layered depth also makes it a rewarding showcase for a new router or a first venture into figurative relief carving. Cut notes: • Hardwoods such as oak, walnut or beech hold the fine mane, wing feathers and lettering far better than soft pine. • Rough with a larger end mill, then finish the lion's face, claws and script with a fine tapered ball-nose for clean detail. • Watch cut depth around the crown finial and shield edge so the tallest points keep their crisp profile. • A dark stain or gilt wax rubbed into the recesses lifts the relief dramatically. Equally printable in resin or filament if you'd rather display it as a painted emblem.
