Woven Star Talisman Medallion

An interlaced star locked inside a blooming garland ring — a talisman-style medallion. This round CNC relief centres on a woven six-pointed star, its two triangles laced over and under like ribbon so the eye can follow each band around the crossings. Standing proud at the very heart is a bold zig-zag bolt — a single lightning or sun-rune form. Encircling everything is a raised border studded with alternating leaf-and-bud clusters, lending the whole piece a heraldic, almost amulet-like weight. It's built for makers after occult, pagan or fantasy-flavoured wall art: a carved medallion for a study door, a board-game prop, the centre of a trivet or coaster, or an inlay set into a box lid or tabletop. The strong positive relief also takes paint or gilding beautifully for a shrine-piece finish. CNC notes • The interlaced star needs a small ball-nose finishing pass to keep the over/under crossings crisp — leave a little depth between bands so the weave stays legible. • Cut it in tight-grained maple or cherry, or a stable MDF for painting; a fine V-bit sharpens the border clusters. • If you 3D-print it, run it flat with the star facing up at 0.12 mm and skip supports on the show face entirely. • Mount as a disc, or route a rebate to inlay it flush.
