Description

A radiant eight-point star caged inside a blossoming ring — a rosette built to be a focal point. This circular medallion pairs two elements to striking effect. At the centre, an openwork eight-pointed star is formed from two overlapping squares, its faceted points carved with a crisp beveled edge so the geometry reads sharp and precise against the pierced background. Wrapping it is a raised outer ring studded with repeating clusters of rounded petal-and-bud motifs, evenly spaced like a carved wreath. The result is part sacred-geometry star, part floral mandala — a symmetrical rosette with real depth and shadow, shown here in a warm carved-wood render. (The centre is an eight-point star, not a rotational hate motif.) It works beautifully as a ceiling rose, a wall medallion, a cabinet-door or headboard centrepiece, a large trivet, or standalone carved decor. CNC notes • The star's open triangles and the gaps around the ring are through-voids — either cut them fully through as a pierced medallion or pocket them shallow against a solid back, depending on whether you want light to pass. • Use a fine ball-nose for the finishing pass to keep the star's beveled facets and the petal clusters crisp. • If you cut it as true openwork, leave small tabs or a sacrificial backer so the delicate points don't shift or snap during the finishing pass. • A dense hardwood holds the fine star tips best; back-mount a pierced version on a contrasting board to make the pattern pop.
