Don Quixote Windmill Relief Panel

Don Quixote charges the windmills, frozen in carved relief. This is a rectangular bas-relief panel packed with storybook drama: two towering windmills with tall tapered towers and railed ladder-galleries fill the upper two-thirds, their bare lattice sails crossing at bold angles. Below them the would-be knight rides a gaunt, ribby horse — lance lowered, floppy plumed hat, saddlebag bouncing — mid-gallop toward his imagined giants. The carving depth is generous, with the figures standing well proud of the softly rounded background plaque. It's a lovely wall piece for readers, for a study or library shelf, and a natural gift for anyone who loves Cervantes or classic literature. Carve / print notes • Purpose-built for CNC relief carving — run a roughing pass, then a fine ball-nose finishing pass to catch the horse's mane, the ladder rungs and the tattered sail edges. • In hardwood it looks genuinely antique; a light stain worked into the recesses (then sanded highlights) really pops the depth. • Equally printable: lay it flat, relief-side up, no supports needed, and 0.12 mm layers keep the fine lines crisp. • Paint or gild the raised figures against a darker recessed ground for a museum look.
