Imperial Officer Portrait Bust

A dignified bust of a bearded officer in full imperial dress uniform. This is a portrait sculpture — head and shoulders — of a moustachioed, bearded man in late-19th / early-20th-century military dress, unmistakably in the mould of an Imperial Russian officer. The detailing is fine: a neatly parted head of hair, a full beard and upswept moustache, a high-collared tunic crossed by a braided aiguillette cord, boxy epaulettes on each shoulder, and a cross-shaped order medal hanging at the chest. His gaze is level and composed, lending the whole piece a calm, statesmanlike weight. It's made for collectors of historical and militaria figures — displayed on a plinth, a shelf or a desktop — and works either as a bare-timber carving or a painted and patinated bust. Print / CNC notes • This is true sculptural relief/3D — for the crispest face and beard, resin printing wins; orient with the face angled up and away from supports. • Keep supports off the front of the face and the medal; anchor instead to the back and the underside of the shoulders. • For CNC, this needs a 4-axis (rotary) or multi-side setup to capture the rounded head and chest; a fine ball-nose finishing pass brings up the beard and braid. • Prime and sand in stages before painting — flesh, uniform and metalwork all reward separate colour passes.
