Bearded Elder Face Wall Mask

The weathered face of a bearded sage, carved in high relief with a river of flowing whiskers. This is a portrait mask of an older man — deep-set watchful eyes, a strong straight nose, heavy brows and a soft cap or headscarf pushed back over waving hair. The real drama is the beard: it pours down from the cheeks in thick, rope-like waves and a split moustache, cascading well below the chin into curling tails. The modelling is genuinely sculptural, rounded fully forward off the backing plane, giving it real depth and shadow. It carries the air of a Renaissance philosopher, an Old Testament prophet, or a woodland green-man elder — a face with a lot of story in it. Mount it as a wall mask, a newel-post cap, a corbel face, or a bar/study centrepiece. Print notes: • High-relief with strong overhangs under the beard curls — on a router, machine face-up and finish the hair channels with a fine tapered ball-nose to keep each lock separate. • The eyes and beard are where quality shows: run a light finishing stepover and be ready for a little hand-detailing around the pupils and moustache split. • For FDM/resin, print face-up flat and add supports only beneath the free beard tips; 0.08–0.12mm layers hold the flowing hair texture. • Rich in warm hardwood (oak, cherry) or printed and stained to imitate carved timber; scales from a 150mm plaque to a substantial statement piece.
