Flying Winged Cherub Relief

A chubby winged cherub caught in joyful mid-flight, drapery streaming behind. This is a Baroque-style putto relief: a curly-haired infant angel with small feathered wings, one arm flung forward and legs kicking as swirls of ribbon-like cloth billow beneath the body. The face is soft and smiling, the modelling rounded and full, and a scrolled sash curls up near the feet - the sort of ornament you would find on a church panel, an antique frame or a carved headboard. It works beautifully as an applique on furniture, mirror and picture frames, as a memorial or nursery piece, or as a standalone wall medallion. The flowing composition fills a corner or crowns a panel with a romantic, old-world softness. Cutting & print notes • The deep undercuts around the wings and drapery folds suit a 3D CNC carve with a fine tapered ball-nose bit; expect a slow finishing pass to capture the curls. • For 3D printing, orient the flat back to the bed and print face-up; a resin printer holds the facial detail far better than FDM at this scale. • If FDM, use 0.08 to 0.12 mm layers and light supports under the outflung arm and trailing cloth. • Prime, then paint as aged ivory, antique gold or plaster white; a soft brown wash sunk into the recesses brings the carving to life.
