Description

A Soviet cosmonaut adrift on his tether, the first satellite spinning below. This dynamic sculpture catches a spacewalk mid-motion: a suited cosmonaut — "CCCP" stamped across the helmet, ribbed life-support hoses down the chest, one glove reaching out — leans off a looping umbilical cable that arcs dramatically overhead. Beneath him sits a Sputnik-style satellite, a rounded body with a hinged panel and four long whip antennae radiating outward, the whole scene mounted on a rounded plinth. It is a proper piece of retro space-race storytelling in three dimensions, far from the celtic inlay its tags imply. The looping tether and outstretched arm give it real movement, making it a showpiece for space enthusiasts, a desk trophy for engineers, or a themed gift for anyone drawn to early cosmonaut history. Print notes: • Best rendered in resin, where the helmet lettering, hoses and thin antennae reward fine layers. • The overhead cable loop and the antennae are the fragile parts — support them thoroughly and cure fully before handling. • For FDM, print at 0.12 mm and support the reaching arm and antenna wires; consider printing the antennae as separate pieces if they come out too fine. • Paint in white-suit-and-metal tones, or leave it as a clean monochrome sculpture for a modern shelf look.
