Standing Father Christmas Figure

Father Christmas himself, bundled up and beaming through a snowy beard. A traditional, old-world Santa figure standing full-length in a long hooded coat that falls in soft folds to his feet. His face is round and kindly, crinkled into a smile above a big, curling beard, and his mittened hands are drawn up together at his chest as if warming them against the cold. There is nothing cartoonish here — this is the storybook Kris Kringle, closer to a Victorian St Nicholas than a modern mascot, all quiet warmth and gentle bulk. It makes a lovely seasonal ornament: a mantel or windowsill figure, a centrepiece for the Christmas table, a carved gift for a collector of Father Christmas figures, or a repeatable decoration to run off in a small batch each December. The simple standing pose also makes it forgiving to machine or print. Making notes • Model in the round: rotary/4-axis milling, or print upright with light supports under the beard and folded arms. • Because the coat is broad and smooth, most of the fine work is in the face and beard — save a small detail bit for those. • Lime, pine or basswood are traditional for a paint-ready Santa; leave the surface slightly toothy so colour keys well. • For a natural-wood finish, sand the robe smooth and pick out the beard and trim with a wax highlight.
