Description

A stern portrait bust of a moustached 20th-century statesman, cast for the shelf and the study. Despite the workshop-style code on the listing, this model is a sculpted head-and-shoulders bust: a heavy-browed man with thick brushed-back hair and a full moustache, dressed in a buttoned military-style tunic with a soft collar and flapped breast pockets. He rests on a stepped octagonal plinth carrying the Cyrillic inscription "Сталин И. В." — identifying the subject as the Soviet leader Joseph Stalin. The sculpt leans into gravitas rather than caricature: a furrowed forehead, deep-set eyes and a squared jaw give it the weight of a period monument. It is aimed at collectors of historical portraiture, students of 20th-century history and anyone building a row of statesman busts. On a desk or bookcase it reads as a small museum-style piece; finished in bronze or marble effect it passes convincingly for cast metal or carved stone. Print notes • Resin (SLA/DLP) holds the hair strands, moustache and fabric folds far better than FDM at this scale. • Print upright on the plinth; the flat underside seats straight on the plate with no raft needed. • Light supports beneath the chin, nose tip and collar are enough — the pose is otherwise largely self-supporting. • Prime in grey, then dry-brush a metallic or stone finish to lift every sculpted crease.
