Description

A baroque flourish of acanthus scrolls framing an open square. This decorative panel is a symmetrical piece of classical ornament: four fan-shaped floral blooms — palmette flowers flanked by rolling volute scrolls — anchor the midpoint of each side, linked by slim border rails that curl into leaf tips at the corners. The centre is left open, so the whole thing reads as a frame or an applied onlay rather than a solid plaque. The carving alternates crisp acanthus leaves with smooth scroll curls, giving it a rich, furniture-grade Rococo character. It is made for embellishment: mount it around a mirror, a headboard, or a cabinet door; use it as a ceiling or wall onlay; or route it into a tabletop as an inset. The open centre means you can frame anything — a monogram, a panel of contrasting wood, or a plain painted field. Print / CNC notes • A superb CNC subject — run a roughing pass then a fine ballnose finish to bring up the leaf veins and scroll cores. • In wood, orient the grain to run along the border rails so the thin connectors do not snap; MDF is a forgiving alternative for painted or gilded finishes. • For 3D printing, lay it flat and print face-up; the relief is shallow enough to skip supports at a fine layer height. • Gild, gold-leaf, or wax the raised scrolls and wash the recesses dark for an authentic antique-furniture look.
