Baroque Palmette Cartouche Crest

A carved plume that fans open at the top and curls into a heart-shaped frame below. This symmetrical crest ornament is built around a tall central anthemion — a fluted palmette flanked by rolled volutes — that flares upward like a spray of feathers. Beneath it, two heavy C-scrolls sweep down and inward, edged with feathery acanthus leaves and tucked snails of curl, meeting at a pair of confronting scrolls at the base to enclose an open, heart-shaped void at the centre. That empty middle is the clever part: it frames whatever it sits above — a house number, a monogram, a clock face, a mirror or a coat of arms. Use it as a pediment crest atop a cabinet, doorway, headboard or long-case clock. Cut / print notes: • The design is fully symmetrical, so it mirrors perfectly — machine one half and flip to save toolpath time. • Highest relief sits in the central palmette and the two upper volutes; finish those with a fine ball-nose so the flutes stay crisp. • The open centre can be cut right through, or capped at the rear if you want a solid back for mounting. • Flat back, one face carved — prints face-up with no supports; lime or tulipwood machine cleanly, and a bronze or gilt wax over a dark base makes the scrolls glow.
