Palmette Garland Cabinet Onlay

A flowing horizontal onlay for classic cabinetry. This carving runs long and low, built around a central palmette, a fan of upright leaves rising from a scrolled base, that unfurls left and right into mirrored acanthus curls. Each arm sweeps outward and finishes in a round open daisy paired with a textured pinecone-style bud, giving the whole piece a garland feel that suits the top rail of a door, a drawer front or a mantel frieze. The relief is modelled for CNC work, with softly rounded-over surfaces and undercut scroll tips that read well in oak, walnut or a dense MDF meant for painting. Cut notes • Rough with a larger ball-nose, then finish with a 1-2 mm tapered ball for the tight leaf veins and flower centres. • The design is symmetrical, so you can mirror-tile it to any width for a longer run. • Sand lightly along the grain; the recessed background takes a dark glaze nicely to lift the raised foliage. • It also prints cleanly as a resin or FDM appliqué if you would rather glue it on than route it.
