Description

A long, low ribbon of carved foliage built to crown a cabinet or mirror. This CNC onlay is a wide, symmetrical running ornament: a small daisy-style rosette sits dead centre, ringed by pointed petals, and from it two mirrored waves of acanthus leaf roll outward. Each side unfurls into feathered fronds and tapers to a tight C-scroll curl at the very ends, so the whole piece reads like a gentle, outstretched garland rather than a busy medallion. The relief is shallow and softly rounded, catching light along the leaf veins. It is made to be applied, not stood up — a header across a wardrobe door, the apron under a shelf, the top rail of a headboard, or a lintel above an interior doorway. The mirror symmetry means you can pair or repeat it along a longer run without the joins fighting each other. Print notes: • Carve in a close-grained hardwood (oak, maple, walnut) at roughly 8–12 mm relief depth; a tapered ball-nose bit will pick out the fine leaf veins on the finishing pass. • Alternatively 3D print it flat, face-up, as an appliqué and glue it to the surface — no supports needed in that orientation. • Sand lightly with the grain, then stain, gild, or paint to match the host furniture.
