Description

Two graceful loops, cinched at the waist like a length of ribbon. This slender vertical panel, shown in rose-copper, is a baluster-style scroll motif: two symmetrical teardrop / vase-shaped loops stacked one above the other, their curves drawn together at the mid-point by a small wrapped collar — a tight cluster of fine rings that reads exactly like bound ribbon or a forged wrought-iron twist. Plain rectangular blocks top and bottom act as tenons to seat the piece into rails. The whole thing carries a hand-forged, ironwork elegance translated into clean carved relief. It's made for stair balusters and railing infill, but it's equally at home as a vertical appliqué down a cabinet stile, a bed post, or a decorative onlay on a door panel. Print / CNC notes • Cut it two ways: as a pierced openwork panel (through-cutting the gaps inside each loop) or as a raised relief onlay left on a solid backing board. • Use a small-diameter bit to get cleanly into the tight inner curves and the ribbed collar at the centre. • 3D-printing: lay it flat on the bed for strength across the thin loops and add a brim to stop the tenon blocks lifting. • Mirror or stack the pattern end-to-end to build taller balustrade runs from one file.
