Description
A slim classical border built to run the length of a drawer, frame or cornice. This horizontal moulding pairs two rows of overlapping acanthus-leaf feathering that flow outward from a central four-petal rosette, the whole strip beaded with small rounded pearls along its spine. It's a restrained, symmetrical run — refined rather than busy — that reads as convincing period joinery once cut and finished. Use it as repeating trim above a door, along a mantel, across a headboard rail, or on furniture aprons and drawer fronts. Because the pattern resolves neatly at both ends around the centre flower, it can be mirrored and tiled to fill longer spans. CNC notes • A relief carve with a fine ball-nose finishing pass renders the layered leaf tips and pearl beads crisply. • Cut it in long-grain stock so the delicate leaf edges don't chip; oak, maple and tulipwood all machine cleanly. • Keep the relief fairly shallow (a few mm) for trim work so it sits proud without overpowering the piece. • To lengthen, duplicate the leaf run and reuse the central rosette as a repeating join; finish with wax, oil or gilt cream to lift the detail.
