Description

A river of movement to run along an edge. This decorative moulding fills its length with a continuous flowing-wave pattern — closely spaced ribs that lean and sweep like wind-driven grass or a braided current, framed top and bottom by a smooth raised rail. Read end to end it becomes one uninterrupted diagonal rhythm, so butted lengths tile into a seamless run. It is a workhorse trim for makers dressing up plain furniture: drawer fronts, cabinet friezes, headboards, mirror surrounds, picture frames and wall panelling. The recessed field and crisp border make it forgiving to finish. CNC notes: • Designed as a repeating strip — set your toolpath to tile the pattern to whatever length you need. • A 3 mm ball-nose handles the wave field; drop to a 1 mm tapered ball to sharpen the valleys between ribs. • Straight-grained hardwoods (oak, walnut, sapele) carve cleanly; MDF is ideal if you plan to paint or gild. • Sand along the direction of the ribs to avoid flattening the crests, then wipe a dark wax into the grooves to accentuate the flow. Mirror the pattern at corners for a picture-frame effect, or cap the ends with a plain block for a tidy stop.
