Swagged Wreath and Garland Apron

A curved decorative apron band, sculpted to wrap the rim of a round table, pedestal or drum-shaped case piece. At the centre sits an open laurel-and-scroll wreath — a ring built from tiny scrolled leaves — capped by a neat ribbon bow. From either side of that medallion, generously draped fabric swags fall in soft folds and loop up to knotted bows, repeating around the curve so the ornament reads continuously as the band turns away from the eye. The top edge is finished with a plain flat lip that acts as the seat for a tabletop or moulding above. Think Louis XVI and Adam-style neoclassical furniture: this is the fussy, refined detail that turns a plain drum apron into a statement. Print & CNC notes: • Because the ornament sits on a curved face, this really wants a rotary/4th-axis pass or a vacuum-formed segment approach; a flat 3-axis carve only works if you slice it into short chord sections. • The swag undercuts are deep — finish with a long-reach tapered ball-nose and expect to hand-clean the fold shadows. • In wood, choose a tight even grain (lime, tulipwood, cherry) so the ribbon knots hold detail. • For resin printing, orient the band curve-up on its back edge and support only the free swag loops; it scales to whatever diameter your carcase needs.
