Ornate Victorian Miniature Bed

A grand little bed fit for a period drama — carved crest, turned posts and all. Ignore the routing code: this is a fully modelled ornate bed, not a flat pattern. The headboard is crowned with a carved crest — a central oval cameo medallion flanked by facing acanthus scrolls and a small finial — above a shaped, panelled board. Four posts rise from bulbous, fluted turnings, and the two foot-posts carry square blocks decorated with rosette flowers before tapering to urn-shaped finials and stepped feet. A gently rumpled mattress and valance fill the frame. It's an antique, Victorian-flavoured design with plenty of dimensional detail for its size. This one is aimed at miniature and diorama makers: a centrepiece for a dollhouse bedroom, a roombox, a tabletop RPG interior, or a display scene. Painted and dressed with tiny linens, it anchors a whole room set. Print notes • Resin is the way to go — the cameo, scroll crest and rosette blocks need resolution that filament struggles with at this scale. • Consider printing the headboard, posts and mattress as separate parts (or slicing the model) for support access and cleaner faces, then assembling. • Tilt components so supports land on undersides and backs, keeping the carved front of the crest untouched. • Prime, give the carvings a brown wash to sink the detail, then dry-brush a lighter wood tone; paint the mattress separately in a soft fabric colour.
