Description

A wide, sweeping flourish of mirrored scrollwork, built to crown a doorway or headboard. Symmetrical about its centre, the ornament grows from a slim pointed palmette into paired acanthus tendrils that unfurl, curl back on themselves and taper gracefully toward each end. The result is a low-to-medium-relief cartouche header in the Baroque–Victorian manner: all rolling C- and S-scrolls and softly rounded leaf tips, with crisp valleys between them catching shadow. It is a single-sided onlay — sculpted face, flat back — designed to be applied rather than freestanding. Use it as an over-door pediment, a mirror or headboard crest, a fireplace overmantel accent, a cabinet topper, or the flourish above a carved sign. Print / CNC notes • Long and shallow, so it suits a V-carve or a shallow 3D relief: a 30–60° V-bit cuts the crisp valleys while a small ball-nose rounds the scroll tops. • The piece is mirror-symmetric, so it tiles or splits cleanly if your machine bed is short. • Run the grain lengthwise to keep the thin scroll tips from snapping. • Sand the raised scrolls smooth, leave the recesses sharp, then paint-and-wipe (or stain-and-highlight) for strong contrast against the wall.
