Ribbon Figure-Eight Scroll Flourish

A single fluid ribbon, tied into two graceful loops. This slim horizontal flourish is all about the line: a thin, tapering length of carved ribbon that crosses itself into a pair of figure-eight loops at the centre, then trails off into whipped, calligraphic tails at each end. There is nothing heavy about it, just an elegant swash that draws the eye left to right. The soft gold render shows a rounded, wire-like profile with gentle highlights running along the ribbon, so it reads more like drawn ironwork or scrolled calligraphy than chunky leafwork. It is a low, delicate relief meant to fill a long, narrow space. Perfect as a divider, an underline beneath carved lettering, a drawer-rail accent, a border along a panel, or a slim onlay for a headboard, sign or mirror. Print / CNC notes: • Ideal for a shallow V-bit or fine ball-nose relief pass; keep the cut delicate so the thin ribbon does not undercut into fragility. • The crossing loops have small overlaps, check tool clearance where the ribbon passes over itself. • As a print, lay it flat and it needs little or no support; back it with a thin sheet if using it as an applique. • Because it is symmetrical and repeatable, tile several end to end for a continuous decorative band. Stain, gild or paint to sit against lettering or a plain field where a light, airy accent is wanted.
