Rolling C-Scroll Moulding Trim

A ribbon of rolling scrolls to trim the edge of almost anything. This long horizontal moulding strip runs a continuous wave of C-scrolls and tucked leaf-tips between two plain reeded borders — each spiral rolls into the next like a breaking wave frozen in wood, alternating open eyes and curled tails for a rhythm that reads well up close or across a room. The relief is shallow-to-medium with rounded crowns, so it takes paint or a wiped glaze without clogging. Use it as running trim: door and window casings, cabinet friezes, cornice and dado rails, drawer aprons, picture-frame lengths or the top band of a headboard. Because the pattern repeats end to end, you can tile several passes to reach any length. Cut / print notes • CNC: run a ball-nose finish bit along the grain; the scroll eyes are the deepest points, so set Z-depth to the tightest curl and keep a small stepover for smooth spirals. • Tile it: butt copies end-to-end — the motif is designed so the last scroll meets the first cleanly. • 3D print flat on its back with no supports; the reeded borders double as handy registration edges when gluing straight. • Scale the height to your rail width and mirror a second length for symmetrical framing.
