Description
A single length of profiled moulding bent into a long, easy wave. Rather than a straight run, this trim rises to a soft crest and dips again in a shallow serpentine, its face stacked with layered mouldings — a rounded bead flanked by coves and fillets — so it catches a highlight all along the curve. It is designed for the places straight stock cannot follow: the crown of an arched cabinet, a curved pelmet or valance, the top rail of a shaped headboard, or the sweep over an arched mirror or doorway. The profile is decorative but restrained, so it blends into both traditional and transitional cabinetry. CNC & print notes: • Machine it lying flat, profile-side up, from a board thick enough to hold the wave; a ball-nose plus a small V-bit sharpens the bead and quirks. • Match the timber to your surrounding trim — oak, poplar and MDF all take this profile well (MDF if you plan to paint). • For 3D printing, lay the curve flat on the bed and print face-up to keep layer lines off the visible profile; supports are not needed. • Fill, prime and sand the printed version before painting so the moulding reads as solid timber.
