Description
A running ribbon of scrolls to run along the top of anything. D 307 is a long, low horizontal frieze: a repeating wave of C-scrolls, each loop sprouting a small acanthus leaf, marching out symmetrically from a raised oval boss at dead centre. The tails at both ends finish in a neat curl, so the strip reads as complete rather than cut off. It is a border element through and through, shallow, wide and made to be seen in a line. Use it as a cornice or valance over a cabinet, a rail across a headboard, the frieze on a mantel, or a decorative course along drawer fronts. Cut it in a repeating run and it becomes cove moulding of any length. Print and CNC notes • Flat-backed by design, so sit it flat on the bed for printing or clamp it flat on the spoilboard for routing; no supports needed either way. • For long runs, cut the model at the symmetry line between two scrolls so tiles butt seamlessly. • A 30 to 60 degree V-bit for the scroll cores plus a 2 to 3 mm ball-nose for the leaf bodies gives the cleanest read at furniture scale. • Keep the relief shallow, around 6 to 10 mm; this pattern lives on shadow, so a low crisp cut beats a deep one.
