Description

A sweeping symmetrical flourish of carved leaves — a crest to cap a mirror, a doorway or a headboard. The design is a horizontal acanthus scroll ornament, mirrored perfectly around its centre. From a central palmette fan, pairs of leafy volutes curl outward and downward, each tendril rolling into a tight spiral and sprouting smaller feathered fronds, before the outermost arms sweep up and coil back on themselves. It's pure baroque scrollwork — flowing, foliate and confident — with enough depth to throw a strong shadow line. Use it as a header or crest above a mirror, cabinet, archway or bed, as a wall ornament in its own right, or as an applied moulding on furniture. Its long, low proportion makes it ideal for spanning the top of something and drawing the eye across. Print notes: • Machine or print face-up and flat; the back is level for gluing or screwing straight onto a surface. • On the CNC, rough with an end mill then finish with a fine tapered ball-nose so the spiral centres and leaf tips stay crisp. • Choose a timber that carves cleanly across the grain — lime, tulipwood, maple — to avoid chipping the delicate scroll ends. • Gilded, limed or dark-waxed, it takes on a period antique look; in resin or FDM it primes and paints up for a lighter decor accent.
