Description
A length of decorative border moulding carved with a rolling, repeating wave — the classic Vitruvian scroll, sometimes called a running-dog pattern. Each unit curls into the next like a line of breaking surf, and a fine row of raised beads runs along the lower edge to frame the wave and add a second rhythm to the strip. Slim flat lands top and bottom keep the ornament tidy and give clean reference edges for lining up multiple runs. The relief is shallow and even, so it wraps neatly around a room or a piece of furniture. It is built for trim work: picture and mirror frames, cabinet rails, drawer fronts, cornice and dado runs, or a decorative band inset into panelling. Cutting notes • The pattern tiles seamlessly end-to-end — repeat the tile along your stock and trim to length on site • Rough the waves with a suitable end mill, then bring out the scroll curls and beads with a fine ball-nose finishing pass • Choose a stable, straight-grained timber so long runs stay flat and the beads don't chip • Cuts equally well as a repeating relief on flat stock or profiled onto a moulding blank; sand lightly along the grain before finishing
