Description

A calm, flowing wave carved into a clean panel. Despite the code-style name, what this file actually is is a smooth rectangular board whose bottom edge sweeps into a single graceful S-curve — one long dip that rises to a gentle crest, like a stylised wave or a valance skirt. The face itself is flat and unornamented, letting the sculpted profile do all the talking. That makes it a genuinely versatile trim piece. Use it as a decorative apron under a shelf or countertop, a skirt board beneath a cabinet or bench, a headboard cap, a pelmet above a window, or a nameplate blank whose curved lower edge frames engraved text. The restrained, modern line suits contemporary interiors where fussier scrollwork would feel out of place. CNC notes: • This is a low-effort cut: a simple profile/pocket job. The curved lower edge is best cut as a through-profile pass so the wave is a real silhouette, not just an engraved line. • Machine from sheet stock — plywood, MDF for painting, or a hardwood if the edge will be seen; a compression bit keeps the cut edges clean top and bottom. • Because the face is flat, it's an ideal blank for a second operation: v-carve a name, add inlay, or route a shallow border before cutting the wave. • Scales freely in length; keep the wave depth proportional so the curve stays elegant rather than abrupt. Sand and round the profile edge before finishing.
