Scrolled Pediment Header Onlay

A long, low header that stretches a flourish clear across a panel. This horizontal onlay centres on an upright urn-and-tulip motif ringed by a little collar, from which two symmetrical C-scrolls sweep outward, each throwing off a spray of slender acanthus leaves before the moulding thins into long, tapering scrolled tails that curl up at the very ends. The centre carries the deepest relief; the tails fade almost to a fine line. It is a pediment / valance accent — glue it above cabinet doors, along a mantel frieze, over an archway, or across a headboard crown or mirror top where you need a wide, elegant span rather than a compact medallion. CNC / print notes: • Because it is long and shallow, hold-down matters: tabs or a vacuum bed stop the thin tails from chattering. • Cut with the grain running end-to-end so those tails do not snap; a fine ball-nose renders the central urn and leaf sprigs. • MDF or poplar for a painted finish, or a clear-grained hardwood to show the carving. • Prints face-up flat; support only the raised central urn. The flat back means no fitting — glue or pin it straight on.
