Description

A blossom that spills into a cascade of carved petals. This vertical drop ornament opens with a full daisy-style flower — eight rounded petals cupped around a smoothly domed heart — then flows downward into a tapering column of overlapping teardrop husks, each leaf tucked beneath the last like a sheaf of ripe grain. A small splayed flourish closes off the tail. It reads as a traditional furniture onlay: the kind of appliqué that dresses the stile of a cabinet door, the apron of a table, or the centre of a bed headboard. Cut in wood on a router it becomes an heirloom-grade embellishment; the soft, rounded modelling is designed to catch raking light so the flower and every husk throw their own gentle shadow. It also prints cleanly in resin or fine-layer filament for makers who prefer to glue and paint an appliqué rather than carve one. Print notes • Orient it flat, decorated face up — the reverse is a plane meant to sit flush against a surface. • On a 3-axis CNC a ball-nose finishing pass handles the modelling; keep the stepover tight through the deep flower centre to preserve the ridges. • For FDM, a 0.12 mm layer keeps the petal transitions crisp; a light sand and a shellac or wax finish lifts the grain. • Mirror the file if you need a matching left/right pair to frame a panel.
