Mirrored Olive Branch Appliqué

A classical olive spray unfurling in mirrored calm. This is a decorative relief onlay carved as a symmetrical ornament: a pair of tight central volutes scroll inward beneath a rising leaf plume, while long olive branches sweep outward to either side, each strung with slender leaves and small round olives. The warm sandy render shows the raised, softly rounded modelling typical of a furniture appliqué — high at the centre and feathering down to fine leaf tips at the ends. It is designed to dress furniture and joinery: cabinet doors, drawer fronts, headboards, mirror and picture frames, mantels or a run of panel moulding. Mounted and gilded or lime-waxed, it lends a Mediterranean, old-world softness to an otherwise plain surface. CNC notes: • Cut as a 3D relief in a close-grained hardwood — lime, tulipwood, beech or cherry all carve cleanly. • Rough with a ball-nose, then finish-pass with a small tapered ball for the leaf veins and berry undercuts. • Mind the delicate branch tips: leave them attached to the stock until the final pass, then part them off by hand. • It also prints well in resin or fine-layer FDM if you want a lightweight glue-on appliqué rather than a machined one.
