Mirrored Acanthus Crest Ornament

Two mirrored scrolls sweeping up like a pair of unfurling wings. A symmetrical acanthus appliqué in a broad heart-shaped silhouette. From a central palmette-and-bead motif, two large C-scrolls roll outward and up, each one wrapped in overlapping acanthus leaves that curl to a fine point; below, a fan of feathered fronds spreads sideways and tucks under in neat little volutes. The composition is perfectly mirrored down the centreline, so it reads as a crest or crown ornament. Deep, confident relief and a gold finish give it a carved-wood, antique-cabinet feel. Think of it as a topper: the centre crest of a mirror or cabinet door, a headboard flourish, a clock or archway ornament, or a repeated motif along a run of furniture. Print notes • Flat-backed for direct mounting; glue or pin it to the surface once finished. • On a CNC router this suits hardwood or dense MDF — rough with a straight bit, then finish with a tapered ball-nose for the leaf curls. • Resin printing gives the cleanest overlapping-leaf detail; FDM works if you print face-up with supports under the scroll undercuts. • Scale the width to your panel first, then prime and paint, gild, or stain to blend with existing woodwork.
