Description

A ribbon of carved scrollwork built around a single blossom. This vertical onlay is a study in mirror symmetry: two long C-scrolls sweep out from a central floral boss, curling back into tight snail volutes at each corner and tapering to slim teardrop finials at the very top and bottom. The heart of the panel is a rounded rosette, a four-petal star framed by a fan of stubby rays like a stylised sunflower pressed into the surface. Small beaded accents sit at the shoulders, giving the eye a resting point between the sweeping lines. It is meant as an applied ornament, the kind of piece you glue and pin onto a cabinet door, a headboard, a mirror frame or a stair newel to lift plain joinery into something that looks hand-carved. Print notes • Cut in a tight, even-grained hardwood (maple, beech or lime) so the fine volute tips hold their edge. • Run a small tapered ball-nose bit for the finishing pass; the deep undercuts between scrolls reward a slow final cut. • Machine the piece, then sand the back dead-flat for a gap-free glue-up against the host surface. • For 3D printing, orient face-up at a fine layer height, then prime and paint or gild for an antique look.
