Description

Rococo waves caught mid-curl — paired scrolls breaking around an open oval eye. This horizontal molding is built on symmetry. At its heart sits an open oval cartouche, a smooth empty loop ringed by tightly wound C-scrolls that spiral inward like the crests of two facing waves. From that centre the ornament unfurls outward: long, softly rounded scroll-forms roll and taper toward each end, giving the whole band the flowing, foamy rhythm of baroque frostwork. It reads as a crest or frieze — the kind of piece set above a door, along a valance, across a drawer rail, or crowning a mirror. The design is a raised relief on a flat strip with a flat back for easy mounting. Print notes: • Carve or print on the flat back with no supports; the rounded scrolls are all top-facing. • Those coiled scroll centres are the detail hotspot — a fine ballnose finishing pass (or a 0.2 mm nozzle) keeps the spirals from muddying. • It is a long, slim part; verify it fits your work area and mind the fragile ends when you unclamp it or peel it off the bed. • The sweeping surfaces love a gloss or gilt finish, with a dark glaze wiped into the scroll hollows for contrast.
